Just noticed yesterday that the entire underside of my car is a bright, metallic blue :? . When you flake the undercoat off it's as glossy as you'd expect the body to be. Problem is, the tag codes the car as White!! Whazz up with that??? Did they paint all the undersides one color? Or is my body tag a phoney?
TIA

Hi Chuck, Every car I have had, have or seen was gray. Kind of a battleship gray. Wasn't quite the same gray that is under the hood and trunk, but it is convienent to use the same paint on all undersides. I did.
Match the trunk lid and under hood color, and paint the under car with the same paint

My 59 is also gray underneath. Isn't it nice to have a 45 year old car with undersides that nice to see the factory paint? My car was "raised" in California and Texas, hence the clean underside. I have a Minnesota 59 with rusty floorboards and a Wisconsin 59 parts car with 70% of floor gone.
