I have a 1959 Plymouth Sport fury Conv. with a 318 4bbl Automatic . Currently my ballast resistor is located on the firewall through the ID Plate . This can't be the original location.

Can anybody tell me the proper location for the ballast resistor?

Hi 59Sport,
Looking at the master cylinder from the front of the car it mounts on the bottom left bolt of the four bolts that holds the master cylinder to the firewall. It has a Bracket on the side that is somewhat triangular and only goes about half way up the resistor. Hope this Helps. After market resistors have different mounting brackets so you have to mount them ont the firewall. Don't let it dangle, because if it shorts out you have big trouble.

My ballast resistor is located in same place as Dick's so 2 out of 2 must be correct.
