1959 Canadian Dodge Viscount - Export Hybrid on eBay

Post by mrtester »

Currently up for auction on eBay Canada is this '59 Dodge Viscount, the familiar Plymouth body with the Dodge front end. The Viscount is the Canadian equivalent of the U. S. Plymouth Fury, with the Fury side trim in place, and powered by the Canada-only 313 CID V8. As the car is currently located in Manitoba, I wonder if there are any ambitious U. S. residents willing to make a trip to Canada and clear customs with it in tow. One only wonders.....

I have always found the 4HTs "different" AND attractive.
Manitoba, huh? I don't have my atlas here..west to east it is BC, SK, then MB? That would be a long drive for a rare car..there can't be that many in unrestored, apparently good condition (except for the "floors").

Oops, sorry, forgot about Alberta. Basically the car is located north of North Dakota. I have no idea what's involved in getting thru Customs.

I dont think it would be too much of hassle getting thru customs, its an antique vehicle and i think you just have to pay the sales tax on it and thats all, dont quote me tho,you can contact US customs and ask.

I'd love to join you on the trip! Just let me know when you want to go there. I have more than 7 weeks of vacation next year so the time won't be the problem

Ron, Dont rub it in!
I sure wish I was in the position to begin building a herd of FL cars..
I see it sold for ~$1220. Maybe we can get the new owner to join our group.

His name is Dave Kinach, and he hails from Ottawa, Ontario. I've already cobbled his web page together, just not linked it in yet!
