Had relatives here for the day. Being hot and sunny, they wanted a ride in the Plymouth, so I backed it out of the garage, and proceeded to lower the top. Bam! The drivers side hydraulic ram disconnected from the top assembly.
If I knew how to weld, I could fix it. Maybe I'll try the epoxy we use at work to set re-bar...

Hey Roger,
Been a long time. Sorry to hear your top is broken. Have you thought about using a jewelers torch and heavy duty plumbing solder? Maybe this will help. Hope the rest of the car is perfroming as suspected. Well have to run. Talk with you later.
Take Care,
Frank

it HAS been along time. Thanks for joining this group!
I meant to take a pic of the part for all to see, just havent gotten around to it. Moreover, there didnt seem to be any interest in the thread.
The part is a female-threaded Pipe onto which was set a saddle bracket. The bracket was attached to the pipe by peening over a small ridge of metal...kid of like a rivet..anyway, the two pieces separated. I straightened the saddle bracket and fit it back onto the top of the pipe, and tried to bend over as much of the metal "shoulder", but I would rather have the two parts welded together.
