Save These Cars!!!!! -- Northwest Missouri
This urgent plea came from a fellow member of the Forward Look site. It's an auction for all the cars pictured on the attached link. The auction takes place on July 30, in Grant City, MO. Grant City is approximately an hour north of Kansas City on I-35.
~~ALERT~~the cars that do not sell at this auction will be SCRAPPED!!
Lots of FL-era cars at this location, including the two '59 Furys pictured. Because of what is featured here, it is my duty to pass this along to the rest of you.

All I can say is WOW. That is a old car enthusiest dream come true.
I looked through the pictures but only saw the 59's already pictured on the forum. I hate to see all that Detroit iron getting ready to be sent to the crusher if it does not sell.
Anyway if anyone decides to go I will probably be there as Grant City is only about 350 miles from my house. Let me know, so my wife and I can try to do lunch with you.

Hello,
The 59 with the "wierd Hood" ..that chrome thingy is from a Dodge. Not a good picture... maybe the whole hood is Dodge.
As the listing states, if you win the bid on the car, you may take your parts off it and leave the rest for the crusher.
One tip given on the FL site is don't get into a bidding wsr with the crusher, allow the crusher buy the car, then offer $20 for all the small trim you can remove.
I wouldn't mind attending, but a someone said, it probably will be a madhouse that day.

Do you believe in reincarnation? These cars will be coming back:

Hey Folks,
Most of the sales I have been to like this in my area usually have a junk man in there buying to beat the band, as long as they go for less than what scrap is bringing.
Usually if they get a car they will sell the parts off them for a few bucks, you can take what you want... I made some very good deals on 66-67 GTO stuff this way a year or so ago. The junk man was buying the Rusted up hulks for $15.00-$50.00 each.. I bought several consoles front and back window mlds. wheel well & rocker moldings and several dash clusters for the sum of $40.00.. The secret is, no matter how bad you hate the crusher man's intentions don't p.o. him buy running up the bids on him, unless you have tried to deal with him and can't before what you want comes up for bid. Most of these guys know that the few parts you want may only total $5.00 scrap value, so what if he wants $20.00 for them.. You Both Win..
It's to far for me to venture.. But to to those that go, Good luck!
That 59 Fury looks as if it may have swivel buckets.
By the way, if anyone is going to this saleand heading thru Pa. on their return trip?
I sure could use a rear bumper for a 57-58 Coronet!

Well, I just talked to my friend that was bidding on some of these cars for me, and I've got five to pick up. I didn't get the 2-door hardtop Fury, but did score the 4-door hardtop. All these cars are rusty, with little or no floors remaing, and poor lower body panels. Lots of other good parts, however. Now, all I have to do is to decide which cars to bring back complete, and which to cut for parts. Decisions, Decisions.---John
