59 Savoy with SF Dash Plaque and 361 GC in Kansas City
Mike from KC, a Forward Looker from Kansas City MO, recently retrieved this rough and rotting 59 Savoy 2-door sedan but now has it up for sale. One of the previous owners stuck a Sport Fury dash plaque on the glovebox door, and I wonder what he was thinking. The engine is claimed to be a 361 Golden Commando, but I'm not so sure. And, it has a TorqueFlite transmission connected to it. Mike is asking $1000 for this Savoy, but that figure is probably negotiable. Call him up at (816) 694-8612, or e-mail him at sgtriffraf@earthlink.net for details.
that is the first time Ive seen a pic of the engine compartment, and we all can see that it isnt a 318...ressembles my 361 as far as distributor location, also note the Commando aircleaner and 4 bbl carb...
Maybe a former owner located a totaled SF in a junkyard and made this Savoy into a "sleeper"? Still and all, it needs a lot of work.

59 savoy statement
i am the owner of the savoy above. yes it is a golden commando. i have talked to a few fellas about this car and it is believed that this particular savoy was a police pursuit car! yes, i said a police pursuit car. that would account for the big engine and the "filled holes in all of the key locations that be consistent with a police vehicle. i bought it from an older fella whos father bought the car used in 1965. i have the title that dates back to august 1965. the son said that the car was completely blue when his father bought it in 65. now the paint has peeled or faded reveiling a white top and trunk. police? check out the picture. the paint on both doors are also faded reveiling a "badge" shaped area of primer underneath. sheriff or highway patrol decal? if you have any questions about this car, then send me a private message and we can discuss the car in detail. thanks, mike in k.c.
