Window motors and fuel tank
Hi
Im new here,I am restoring a 59 SF.I could use some tech help and some supplier info.I took the window motor out and when i did the housing came apart. The springs were damaged in the process.Anyone know who rebuilds these motors?Or where i can get new springs and how do i get the armature back in between the brusheswith the springs in?
Unfortunatly, when load the car on to the trailer the fuel tank was damaged. Anyone have or know about a replacement,or what years fit the 59 SF. Also im in need of chrome pieces (1) just below drivers window and meets door panel,(2) chrome strip across trunk lid.
Thanks
Chuck

Hi Chuck, Welcome aboard!

There's a guy in FL who rebuilds them, but when I found out what he wanted for them, I persisted with fixing mine...
As I recall, I mounted the brush backing plate onto the armature before I dropped the assembly into the can -- and then, tilted the armature so that I could screw the plate to the can. I imagine you could find springs at a hardware or auto supply store, if yours can't be salvaged. Let me know if you want the FL contact, and I'll try to dig it up.

I've got a lead of a trunk lid stainless piece for my car. When I get it, I'll consider selling you mine. It's more work than I can handle, but it's probably restorable. Others on the group can probably help you with your other stainless needs. It would help to have pix!! Consider sending some, and we'll give you your own webpage. In any event -- glad you've signed up!59 plymouth sport fury wrote: Also im in need of chrome pieces (1) just below drivers window and meets door panel,(2) chrome strip across trunk lid.
