I'm getting up there

It's a sad day when I post something to Facebook, before I post here... (*sigh*.) But, it's a sign of the times, I guess.

Here's a vid from way back when, before I had my driver's license - circa 1966, I'm 15 years old. If I look geeky, it's because I was! And am!

What a super neat video Dan!! Do you happen to remember what you were doing under the hood that day?

I do! It was just a routine tune-up - cleaning and setting points, cleaning and setting the gap on plugs - stuff I could do and my pop could fix it if all went south, before he had to go to work the next day :D

Super 8 movie camera? And is that a 56 Dodge Royal?

It was a plain old 8 mm - not much super about it :D My dad had been making movies with it since the late 40’s.

It was a ‘56 Dodge Suburban - were those ever branded as Royal? This one wasn’t. Would love to have it back. He thought the Powerflite was beginning to slip, so he ditched it for a Pontiac wagon. Would love to have that too! :D

Looks like Exner's '55 Royal Sierra morphed into the '56 Regent Suburban. https://auto.howstuffworks.com/1955-dod ... -wagon.htm
I grew up with a '53 Meadowbrook, like this one: http://www.americantorque.com/page/0/2678/

Ah! I recall that branding now. No, dad's was a plain Jane Suburban - the Regent had chrome fin caps, his did not. Here's how his would have looked if it were a Regent:

Love that Meadowbrook! Hey, Christopher Housecat Neapolitan is indicating that he might sell his Suburban... Hmmm....
