"My name is Amanda Lucas, I have a 1959 Sport Fury convertible, 361 Golden Commando engine, swivel seats and attitude. I had always wanted a convertible, I said convertible, and it had to be a Mopar, I did not want a Chevy, Ford everybody has one of those. After work for 35 years with as a engineer for a Telecommunications company I found a 59 on the internet. "
"We live thirty miles south of Washington DC., the car was in Watertown, MN. I took a flight and found what looked to far out of my question, but I got it out side and it had a lot of possibilities. The 59 had sat for three years, the drum brakes were shall we say tight, I took off the air cleaner and found a Carter AB carb. a little gas and fresh battery she turned over on the third try. I took a drive with her and it was the best 30 minutes of my life for a long time. The oil pan had been up on a curb, the radiator needed 5 core, three core stuffed up was not getting it, tranny needed a leak fixed. I found the owner in Bloomington and made a deal, he had lost interest in the car and let it sit. If the brakes had been better I would have drove her home, but I had it trucked over the mountains. All the problems have been fixed by my husband and myself or a friend we have that comes from the years of push button transmissions, 361 Golden Commando engines and fins. The 59 Plymouth sleeps next to our 1959 Dodge Coronet with 49 K on her."
