So I was pulling parts off a Toyota in the local junk yard and saw this in the corner of the yard poking out from under a tree. I didn't realize it was a 2 door wagon till I got over to it. I asked about it and the owner of the yard said it was his uncle's and that his uncle died years ago. They parked it for having carb issues in 84. So it was not on their list of junked cars. I asked if they would sell it and was told it wasn't going to be cheap. I asked "what's cheap?" Owner responded with" $500" I said "$550 throw some donuts on it and deliver it to my house"(I live 40 miles away) I also threw in a caveat " lift her up, let me inspect the frame. If it's solid we have a deal." He agreed.
Well it was solid and I took delevery last weekend.

I got her home and washed her and sourced a steering wheel.

Yes lots of fun. Pulled the bent driveshaft (thanks to the yard worker), cleaned her out and pulled the carpet. Well what was left of it. The floor on both sides needs replacing and the rockers. So not too bad. Looks like she has been painted before and there is some bondo but not bad.

Great find, good luck with it. If the distributor is next to the firewall it's a 318 cubic inch. If the distributor is on the front passenger side it's a 361 cubic inch.

Nice thanks guys. I need to rebuild the carb and right now the engine is stuck. No mechanical damage. I have the plugs out and soaking the cylinders in marvel mystery oil. Going to wait a couple days then crank on it to see if she frees up.

Dick,
I tried all the big box auto stores around me but living in the middle of nowhere in maine they only can get 2 parts from the kit. Not a full one. But I found a kit online for 50-60 shipped. Which isn't bad. The carb that I got was a Carter carb 2512sb (got it for free/12 pack, when I bought the steering wheel) going to wait till I get the engine unstuck to deal with the rebuild.

Besides NAPA, eBay and www.rockauto.com are good sources.
