A lot of beautiful cars. Congratulations on your first place win Ed.

Dan - Are those whitewalls on your car the port-a-walls, if so, how are they holding up, are they giving you any trouble, would you use them again, do you have inner tubes, etc, etc, etc. I have a set and am wondering about using them.

Looks like a great show and to have Faulkner and Ed's car there is great to show off the 59's! Ed looks good and he should winning first place in Peoples choice award.

Dan will answer your question Dick, but as of year ago at Carlisle Dan was running Port a walls, but he might have invested in some Coker WW. He did lose a part of one of the Port a Walls on that trip but don't know if he has had that problem again.

Dick, I bought four black wall radials from Pep Boys and the portawalls from Lucas Tire - took 'em down to Jimmy Rawa who mounted them for me. John's right, I've actually lost two - but, always at high speed on the Pennsy Turnpike en route to Carlisle. No biggie, though, I found a local guy who knows how to put them on. I like the look, I love the ride of radials, and it was an inexpensive solution for me. No tubes - just vanilla radials.

HIgh speeds is right! I did not know 59's can go at those speeds and sustain them! What a blast we had on the Turnspike!

Dan, what size Radials did you go with? I have a set of Port a Walls too but have not bought the tires yet but would like to soon. I have been looking for P225-75R-14's but can only find P215-70R-14's... Maybe I am looking for two big of a tire in the P225 range and should be happy with the P215's

John - P225/75R/14 are not made anymore, except for Coker whitewall radials at $219.00 per each. Ouch, I was forced to buy one when the Desoto Threw a tread. The closest you can get is P215/75R/14 which is what I use. Cooper has a P215/75R/14 Trendsetter SE whitewall. I bought one yesterday for my small luggage trailer. I'm using the 1" whitewall on my convert with the port-a-walls just in case I throw one I still have the semblance of a whitewall.

Dan - Think you could pick your "local Guys" brain to learn what he does special when he mounts the port-a -walls?
Thanks,
Dick.

John - The Cooper Trendsetter is thier entry level (Cheap) tire, I paid $99.00. When I sold my 63 Ford Convertible I wanted to keep the 225 whitewalls on it as spares for the Desoto. I put brand new Hancook 215's on it because I was told Ford uses them as OE on some of thier new cars.
