Plymouth comes out on Top!
Plymouth comes out on Top!
Matthew found this picture on the web. It just goes to prove, in any comparison of Plymouth to Rambler - even when a Savoy (or the lowly Belvedere) - Plymouth comes out on top!

Actually, some of these pix are astonishing - as well as heartbreaking:

John Fowlie, what can you tell us about this graveyard?

Re: Plymouth comes out on Top!
Interesting photos, Dan.
It appears that this yard is in the upper Northwest on the Pacific ocean side of the mountains. I have found similar mossy overgrown yards in that region as the continual wet weather makes the cars a perfect greenhouse. Maybe Roger knows this particular yard, as that is in his general vicinity.

Re: Plymouth comes out on Top!
I haven't seen this yard. As someone over on FL said, it looks to be NW Oregon, going by license plates. The fir trees are enormous! More moss and ferns than I am used to seeing.
Re: Plymouth comes out on Top!
I believe this is a yard I found about twenty years ago near Rainier, OR, across the Columbia River from Longview, WA. It was fenced from the road and padlocked up tight. One day I drove by and found someone there. I stopped and talked to the guy, who was not a happy person. The county said he could not do business unless he did several things to comply with land use regulation.
He said the costs were prohibitive and he was just going to let everything rot, which is what appears to have happened. I Googled the place I am remembering, and the cars in the water are showing, so this and the Oregon and Washington license plates probably make this the place. If anyone is interested in finding it with Google, it is on Old Hiway 30 and Apairy Rd West of Rainer.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for the post. I remember you taking me past this one years ago. And I do now remember you said some of it was wetlands, and I remember the guy got shut down for not being licensed to sell parts, so he put the whole place up for sale for $350K or something..
I gotta wonder how these photos got taken if the place is still locked up. An intrepid trespasser? Maybe the place isnt patrolled anymore? Judging by photos, there is scant little worth salvaging, although there were several drier cars located across the road.
