Why I'm not working on the '59

Post by Faulkner »

It's fence-mending time... And, bitter cold. What's all this about "out like a lamb"?

What's wrong with the fence, Dan? I see a post on the ground...ws there a railing to match the left side of deck?

Roger,
The weather here has been fine, I have a heater core to replace.. haven't even started. I might be burning out. I was perfectly happy to be planting bulbs for my wife and granddaughter. I promise I will do the heater core within the week....weather permitting.

I hope my swimming pool (at Dan's house) will start getting warm soon or at least by the second week in July! 8)

It is looking good Dan! Today I bought my tickets and we will be arriving in Philly July 6th so I share John's concern about heating the pool

We have had constant rain in northern California, 20 degree colder than normal temps, and two tornadoes touched down within ten miles of here.

Can't wait for the 100 degree days of summer, myself!

Hey, you're the whole reason I have to replace the fence, John - the neighbors complained because of the cannonballs into the pool! I don't think the backsplash can clear this fence...

I am reasoning from the posted comments that Dan has replaced an existing fence with a new, taller white vinyl fence.

You surmise correctly, Roger! Just to the fore of the white vinyl is a collapsing redwood fence. Fortunately, the pressure treated fenceposts are in great shape, so I'm just sleeving them with vinyl tubes and hanging the fence in between. It's no picnic, though! the redwood fence is 8' between posts, and all vinyl fencing I've found is 8' on post center. However, it's meant to slide into hollow posts - so, with an extra panel per fence and a little adaptation, I'm able to make it work.

I would be afraid to let you see my back yard.. That is why I have a fence. Ask John. The mobile 105mm Howitzer is for the zoning inspector.

Rick is right! his backyard needs a real good and tall fence to hold back all his carparts! :o
