The business is located in Jamestown, CA, in the foothills above Modesto. Gold Rush country!
I also turned up an email address........mike@dodgecityvintage.com
There is (was?) a guy in that general area who collects finned Mopars. He had several? 59 Plymouths. I never tried very hard to establish communication with him. If anybody is interested in making a totally COLD call, I have a # for Mr. Roger Berner, of Hughson, CA

I have three calls in to the seller and still awaiting a response. They may not be in on Saturday I guess or have already sold the car.
I have my younger brother in Sunnvale (San Jose, CA) all set to pick up the car once I get hold of the seller and pay him. My brother is about an hour and a half away from Jamestown. he is a Mopar guy too with two 70 Charger 500's in his garage.
Roger, PM me the phone number of the other fin collector. I do cold calls all day long in my Electrical business and I have no problems calling anyone out of the blue and talking cars or whatever.
thanks!

If you haven't yet received a return call from the seller in California, either he was inundated with calls, or he went home for the weekend.

Thanks Roger, I agree with your assessment. It was a business number and they probably are not in today. I did send an email since you had dug it up for me and others.
Lets hope it is still for sale and I can send them the funds for it and my brother can pick it up for me and store it till I can ship it or pick it up.
Thanks again for the heads up on it. I was Skyping with Ron, when he mentioned you had just posted it and thought I better get on it!

Wo Hooo! Imagine His and Hers cvts for the Quinns...
I imagined claiming the Powerball jackpot of 380 M...I had a ticket and a winner was in WA State...
(I don't know how I missed noticing that you own a 70 Cuda cvt....when I was in High school, one year behind you...a friend bought a used 70 Cuda cvt w/ 440 SixPak. While I thought it was cool, i wasnt into MUSCLE, but style, as my brother owned a 59 XK-150 at the time.)

You had a 440 6 lk Cuda, Wow! E bodies is what I am real good at, Still learning this 59 stuff.
I will have to check some of my numbers but there was less then 25 440 6 pack Cuda converts made. Sorry to say this but they go over $250k when they surface for sale. Only the Hemi converts (around 12 made) go for the $2 to $3 million dollar mark.
Your Cuda would have had a partial vin of BS27V0Bxxxxxx, The V stands for 440 6 pack. B (second B )for Hamtramck assembly (Dodge Main)
My Cuda is a 1 of 135 Canadian coded Convertible Cuda's shipped to Canada. It had a 340 4bbl auto, Rallye Red, power window and top and luggage rack. My fatheres Chrysler Corp. company car in 1970 was a 70 Cuda Convert 440 4bbl car which I have been looking forever for.
I have about 30K into the Cuda and it still is not done yet! Hopefully in 2011. That is one reason why it has taken me so long for the 59 since most of my extra cash went to College for the kids and dollars spent on parts for the Cuda.
I would love to have a match set of 59 converts. Chances on finding a SF Convert is rare and would require major dollars. But converting my labor to restoration work is fine with me. My wife has even commented that I seem more interested in the 59 then I do the Cuda....Maybe she is right!

My fault entirely for taking this thread off-topic.
Two corrections: it was not MY car and it wasn't a convertible.
If I have more to add on this topic, I will PM you

Roger, I called two more times today and left messages for them to call me and so far no answer back. I have left 3 voice mails yesterday and an email too. But nothing yet.
They have their Holiday message on the answering machine saying they would be in an out of the office but they should be back now unless they extended their Holiday vacation beyond what they thought they would be gone.
I will keep trying them till I fill up their answering machine up!!!

John and everyone,
We are all bummed that John can't get this guy to respond. Placing an ad in Hemmings is not cheap, so either the poster is
1)dead, in jail, in hospital
2)unable to reply (see #1)
3)overwhelmed with calls
What else could possibly be in motion here?
Maybe john's brother would like to take a road trip to Jamestown, to see what the heck is the problem

Option 4 is that the car is sold to someone else.
My wife recieved voicemail at home today (she did not reconize the number so did not answer the call) A lady left a message for me that they had sold the car and for me to stop calling them.
Oh Well, we can only hope that someone from the 59 Forum or from the Fwrd Look Forum snagged the car before I had started my numerous tries to get in contact with them. I may have been just late in trying (I hope) or maybe my numerous calls were a pain to them.
It would have been nice to pick up another convert, as many of us wish to do too! Hopefully this car will be put back on the road too and we will have a new Forum member!

you should be technically "next in line" should the deal fall thru, but most likely I was late posting the ad....my subscrription with Hemmings is for a hard copy...if one pays more, one gets a Web copy, earlier than the paper copy. This may be the case. Or they may have sold it via other means. Net result: sorry you didnt land the cvt, John. Here's to the hope that the buyer will sign on long enough to tell us who he is.
