Post by Ron Keij »

Hi all,

We are getting closer to Dick Koch every day and we hope to meet him next weekend or just after the weekend. It is really very nice here and the weather is like a dream  We made a lot of pictures and I uploaded some for the world to see http://s1018.photobucket.com/albums/af3 ... da%202010/

When I meet with Dick I will upload the pictures to the forum as well.

Tropical greetings,
Ron and Marjo

Key West is beautiful anytime of year. The town of Marathon is a constant party enviroment.

Hope you both are wearing sunscreen! I would recommend a 60+ for you fair skinned Dutch! 8)

Should have left the convert in the states for your use when you are over here so much! :P

Dick,

I'm sorry but we are not going to make it to the car show  But we still can visit you if you are available Monday in the afternoon. We spent the day on the beach today, we went to Sanibel and decided to stay there for the night as it is sooooooo beautiful 8)

Tomorrow we will be going to Crystal River where we have a manatee swimming tour on Sunday. The tour will be over late in the afternoon and we will be staying around there and leave for Palm Beach Gardens early in the morning. My navigation says it is a 4 hour drive so we should be there in the afternoon. That is if you are available of course! I tried calling you but there was no answer on both numbers, I use my laptop to call and if you don't get a number in your display it is not always someone selling you an insurance

Looking forward to meet you!
Ron

Ron, I have been on Sanibel Island a lot in the early 80's when my Uncle had a condo there. Beautiful sunsets! I am envious of your trip. :P

Denver is only a 4 hour flight away and the skiing is super this early season!!! So how about popping on a plane and ....

John,

You will not see us snowbirds in Colorado before the temperature reaches the 70's again  But seriously, I wished there was more vacation days in a year for Marjo! We would love to see the snowy mountains someday and preferably around Christmas time if you'd ask Marjo. She is always talking about Christmas in the US as it is not a big thing back home, but we will have to settle for Thanksgiving with Dan this year and a late Christmas in the Netherlands with his daughter. But I am really thankful for all the great trips we made and all the great friends I met and will meet soon.

Ron

PS find me an uncle with a condo here on Sanibel island and you'll be my very best friend :!:

I understand completely.

I am now extending a Colorado Christmas Destination offer to you two to be redeemed when ever you want! And of course Matthew too!

We can visit Vail, Aspen, Beaver Creek etc. and enjoy Yuletide atmosphere in the High Rockies (or flat land Denver too!)
Due to my neck/back injury years ago, I can no longer ski but there is still lots to do in the High Mountains!

But for now ... enjoy Thanksgiving with Dan and Faulkner!

Looking forward to your visit, Ron & Marjo! I shouldn't be infectious by then... Struggling with a really bad head cold. I think it's a late reaction to John dunking me in the pool this past summer.

...and Emily is really psyched about traveling to Europe! She's counting the days.

How can I dunk you when I sank like a rock to the bottom of your Olympic size pool! I was just glad you keep Scuba Gear at the bottom for guys like me. (Shades of a Sea Hunt episode and Lloyd Bridges) It was fun till the air ran out and I had to surface like a Nuclear sub with a leak!

Though, most liked my Flipper tail dance routine...

(Actually, I swam the 200 IM in High School till Senior year till I focused on Football, And I weighed 235 Lbs. as a senior kinda helped too! )

John,

We saw an imatation of your swimming skills yesterday, this manatee came up for air and let hinself sink to the bottom to sleep  But I must admit that your Flipper tail dance routine was amazing :!:

Dick,

You can expect us today, we are already closing in on you. Right now we are in Orlando where Marjo wants to go shopping @ the prime outlets for a little while and then we are coming to Palm Beach Gardens. Hope to be there by 3 PM if my navigation system isn't playing tricks on me again.

See you very soon!
Ron

Ron - That's good news, I thought you guys fell in a sinkhole somewhere?? Just a joke, we get a lot of those in Florida. I wish I could offer you a place to stay tonight but my son and grandson are here until he gets on his feet again. But we can go for a ride in the 59 and Yvonne and I want to take you folks to dinner this evening. And maybe a tour of the Area. Can't wait.

Hi all,

We did manage to find Dick and Yvonne's hidden paradise in Palm Beach Gardens and had a great time! They are like He is on the forum, great people that gave us a wonderful time on our last day in Florida. We did not get a tour in the 59 Plymouth but getting it in the 1960 DeSoto Adventurerer wasn't a punishment 8) As most of you don't know it isn't easy to get in the rear seat of a 59 hardtop and if it doesn't have AC you won't be comfortable in the Florida climate. I know it is hard to believe for most of us that you need AC this time of the year but I am glad we did take the DeSoto.

Sorry that I did not make pictures of Dick's other cars but he will make up for that by posting picture updates when he makes progress on the red 59. I was really impressed by the quality of the work he did so far and it will be an excellent car once he is done! Greeny is just a wonderful original car and although it shows aging at some spots this is one of the finest cars I have ever seen.

Dick and Yvonne, we want to thank you so much for your hospitality and all the efforts to make our last day in Florida unforgettable! Hope to visit you guys again someday in the future!
