a few parts still needed. for the Convert....

Well, now that I am assembling finish parts to the convert, I have found that either I have misplaced them or just plum don't have them several parts. I will put my needs out to the general forum and then go to Big M for the ones nobody can dig up. And I do want to buy them from anyone. Not looking for anything free. (except from Dick Koch!)
1) Need the Wiper knob (big W on it) and bezel for the wiper switch. I thought I had picked a set up last year but it is for a 58 model. Fooled again on ebay!
2) rear license plate lense. I have the housing for it but no plastic lense for it. Never see this one on Ebay...
3) Deluxe wheel horn contact bar, Kinda a bowtie (not a chevy!) shaped device that the fits on the clear wheel type of steering wheels. Mine has one of the wings of the bow tie was broken off when I got the car, I will dig up a picture of what I am talking about. No rush on this one since I will run a std. wheel on the car till I get the deluxe wheel recast this winter.
Might be more of some little things but these are the big items.
thanks for any consideration of checking your old parts cache's for some quick Xmas money for your ride!

John,
I think I have the wiper knob and bezel for you, have to check with Matthew when he gets out of bed. Can take a couple of hours but you know about times kids can get up
But there is a fair chance that I will see him before I go back to bed.
It won't be cheap though as I want a ragtop for Christmas
Don't know about the other stuff but I guess we don't have the horn contact bar, we do have a lens (+housing) for the license plate light but in below averge condition, just had one from John F. deliverd that was as good as new when I had cleaned it the price was more than OK for it.

John,
Not positive, but Ron and Matthew might find a "W"iper knob in the truck of the convertible when it arrives mid-November.
I don't think there's a bowtie thingy there however.

We have a W knob but no ring for it.
We also have (2!) license plate light lenses and housing. Want us to send a lens?
They are not super but i remember you told me that someone can make a new one if you have an old one.

Thanks Roger for letting me know about the W in the trunk.
Matthew, I will go look to see if I may have the outside bezel part. The 58 Wiper knob came with a bezel but I was more interested in the Knob issue to look closer at the bezel part.
Thanks for reminding me of the guy who says he can make mold copies of and original lense, I saw a 58 Dodge lense that was copied and it looked great. If you have a complete lense but is crazed a bit, that would make a great mold item for that guy to copy. I do have the housing for the license plate lense so that part is not needed.
When does your Dad leave for Florida? He could bring bot parts to the States and shipped it from there. I will gladly pay for the part(s) and shipping too! In US Dollars or Euro's!

John,
I will leave for Florida on Noverber 14th. I can bring the parts but it will be expensive for you, my ticket was almost $700
I will bring these parts with me and mail them from Florida free of charge, end of discussion
Ron
PS If you need the parts sooner because you plan to be driving your car next week I could mail them from here tomorrow

Funny funny Dutch dude Ron. I will just send a paypal to Matthew and he can slip in your glove box or I can send it to Dick and he can silently slip it into your pocket while you are drooling over Dick's Fin Fleet of cars!
Thanks a bunch! I will pass on the $700 ticket part...If they included a mid flight meal....then maybe...
Three more wires to terminate in the dash cluster and I am done wiring the convert up, bought a battery last weekend and inching closer. I need on more engine belt and then the front clip can go on, So I am close..... but not by next weekend or the weekend after ethier. Darn work is getting in the way.

Somedays I wish I could give you my job Roger, but this week was fun! Got to go the Nuggets game on Weds night for work entertainment and then to the Avalance game tonight, also work related. Both in a club suites and both times the Colorado team lost! Boo!
Schmoozing clients is not what it is cracked up to be. Lot of work but can have moments of fun.
But no work on the 59 in the evening this week because of these after-work duties. The Goer's shipment on my order won't ship till next week to me. Bummer! It will have taken them 2 1/2 weeks to assemble my order and ship out. I thought it would be quicker then that. Guess I am use to Year One type of service where it goes out the door in 48 hours after ordering.
Finally had to call them just to make sure they got my order and the money order, and they had, which is good. But never get any inkling that they had recieved it and were processing the order. Some order acknowledgment from them would have allayed my fears that it was lost in the mail.
Still plenty to do though on the 59 till those parts come in...
