'59 Eyebrows

Can't remember what show it was but a fellow on a car show program made the comment that the '59 Plymouth is the only car he knew of that has the eyebrow shaped front fenders. I haven't really researched it but can't recall any other car with this unique feature.
Might have been on "My Classic Car", but not sure.

If you are referring to the "double-barreled" look, I can't think of another manufacturer either.

Late 50's and early 60's Corvettes have the double barrel front fenders but no eyebrows.

What wimps those Corvettes are! No eyebrows! Sheesh! Like going out without your pants on in public! :oops:

(Wish I had a 59 or 60 model Vette! always like the styling of them up to 62)

Dick's right. Looked in my "Ultimate Car Spotter's Guide" and '58 thru '62 Vette's have that "double-barreled" look fender style. Not as pronounced as our '59's but still there.
The "double-barreled" term is used in that elusive Plymouth Bulletin #199. Somewhere I've seen it described as "eyebrows". Can't remember where, though.

Side note: Did you know that the Plymouth Bulletin spelled barreled as --- barrelled.... Must not have had spell check back then.
I'll admit, I had to look it up to see which one was correct.

According to Websters New Collegiate Dictionary "Barreled" is spelled with only one 'L" not two. A search on Google did result in a finding in some scientific writings that discussed "barrelled space..." so it was Ok for Scientist to double the last constanant and add the 'ed" suffix, but not the case with regards to Plymouth fender shape in 1959 . :o

But it is not correct use in the real world. Single L works. IMHO
