REAR CONTROL AMR STRUT

Post by sportfury1959 »

The “1959 Passenger Car Parts List” shows on page 17AA a “REAR AXLE CONTROL STRUT”. Well, my Fury never had this Strut but I’d like to know more about it and maybe I’ll build one. Where, and how is this Strut mounted? Does it avoid roiling of the axle or does it stabilize the rear axle from moving sidewards? Does anybody have a “Rear Axle Control Strut” mounted on his Plymouth? If yes, I would appreciate a picture or some information about it.

Thanks!!!

Stefan has requested that I post the diagram he's referring to -- here it is:

I`guess this control strut was only used on MY1 Imperial rear axles.

Try to cross reference the strut (3-01-25) to a part number in the book, then check the application. Probable choices are Imperial only, or Air Suspension, or station wagons. There's got to be a reason it is shown in that box view, meaning that it doesn't apply to all cars.
