Parts Book Game

Post by Fins59 »

Here's a suggestion for a parts book game we could play this winter when things slow down and cars are in hibernation. For those who have a ""1959 Passenger Car Parts List" book, we could scour the book and see who can find the most pages where the name "Sport Fury" is printed as "Sports Fury" I happened to find it on one page. There must be more, maybe not. Participants could chip in a $$$ amount to participate.

lst place prize suggestion - Money prize that must be used for trip to Chryslers @ Carlisle

I'm going to have to get a later 59 Parts book publication, I have an early one and it has only one page on the convertible parts. Seems it was not available on the first printing.....or when I bought it off of Ebay, the pages were just missing from the previous owner.

I have a September,1958 printing.

We do need to have something that we can all do during the winter months to keep everyone engaged in 59 stuff. and in this Forum....

MIne's the same printing. It never occurred to me that there might be later printings, containing additonal, useful information. As you are in the middle of your car restoration, it would be worth your time to search for one.

Dick Koch always the "Debbie Downer at a party!"

Dick, I am almost done, or at least in the next 30 days will be in having an driving car. So I will have some spare time during the winter....OK, still a lot of detail items to do, like re-chrome the bumpers, brake lights housings and bezels. etc...

Come to think of it...I will be busy this winter!

Roger, If you have the same print date then I am missing the convertible structure section from the previous owner/seller of my Parts Manual. All I have is the first page with info on both sides.

Time to buy another set off of Ebay for the garage reference. I can then copy the missing pages for the house/Study copy.

Roger, thanks for clearing that up for me. I did notice that some of the sections have a October, 1958 print date too.

John,
the heavens know I am unemployed and bored out of my skull. What can I do/send/copy for you out of my Book, assuming it has the pages you seek?

Roger, that is very nice of you, First I will send you $25 for the trouble of copying the pages and mailing them to me.

That would save me from buying an entire new (old) parts manual. If that is OK with you, I will send you the $25 or I can pay you by paypal (I will add the 3% in) Your choice.

Thanks a lot for offering and I will take you up on the offer.
