Guys - Please help me out, there are car shows Thur. Fri. & Sat. Should I go to all of them or maybe just one or two. Just checked the thermometer on the back porch, it's 79 degrees, good convertible weather (top down of course). Maybe you guys can answer a question for me, when its winter for ya'll do you have sleigh show you can go to. One drawback for living in south Florida is I have to get on my riding mower and cut the grass, think I'll do that now.
Thinking of you all.
Dick.
I really feel sorry for you, making all those choices must be hard And then you don't even get a real winter and have to keep going to car shows all year long.
We are glad that our season is only from April to September and we only have to sacrifice a couple of weekends per year. And a lot of the weekends we can avoid going to the show because it is raining
Good luck with your decision from a cold (48 degrees) and rainy country!
Ron
Must be nice to be able to go to car shows all year round, here today in Toronto Ontario, its 23 degrees, windy as hell with a trace of snow on the ground.
I put both my cars away for their winter sleep back in October!
But, as Ron said, im sure you'll make the right decision and can i come with you too?
This just in!!!... Low in Denver last night was -5 degrees! My garage is at least -10 degrees! No work on the convert this past week, Too Cold!
Dick, What are we going to do about you and your gloating!! I think you should move up North so you can experience the cold that we do.
I can't even imagine to live in an area that is warm all the time. What we can accomplish with that type of temperature all the time.
Maybe I should start sending some sub assemblies down to you...But you are in the middle of your own 59 tear down so maybe another time.
Temps this weekend in Denver will be in the middle 40's so that won't be too bad to work in.
Steve - Now that's funny. My wife said you got me good and I agree. I can't stop breaking up. Refrigheration is good but because of Perpetural Global warming in South Florida we have to use Epoxy Primer for long life. Let me see, as I understand it all you guys seem to be standing ankle deep in Global Warming. Keep those mittens close.
Your Friend,
Dick.
Dick, I have arranged for you to sit in a local Palm Beach Piggly Wiggly (or is it Winn Dixie) commerical Deep Freeze to understand our hardship with Mother Nature.
I can't find one big enough for all your Fin cars, So only you have to endure the cold.
So where are the pics of the car shows? And pics where we can the sun reflect in the stainless trim? And if you get tired of all the sunshine please we would be more than happy to take some from you, temps between 20 and 30 degrees and I can't even remember what summer feels like
Well I kinda know how you guys feel, rained last 3 days, some flooding south of me in the Fort Lauderdale area. Missed two car shows, only thing I had to do was work on the 59. Woke up this morning and had to turn the AC off, it was 60 degrees outside and overcast. Guess that leaves going to the beach out (4 miles from my house). Not raining now so I may just cut the grass, grows real fast with all that rain. Well I'll just have to wait for next week, there will be a car show every day except Christmas, weather is supposed to be real nice too. May Santa's old car parts elf bless you and bring many nice needed parts to you all next year.
I pray that all of you and your family have a blessed Christmas and a prosperous and healthy new year. HO, HO, HO.
Your friend,
Dick
I've got a one man car show in my garage, ain't goin' nowhere -- that's because Mother Nature dumped 18 inches of snow on Philly yesterday. The walk is clear, the car is uncovered -- now to clear the deck above the garage (for the second time).
So, thanks for the good weather wishes, Dick! It could be worse. Look at Santa's troubles:
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Dan, where is Bailey in these pictures? Hopefully she is doing well with the path you shoveled for her to do her business. That is a lot of snow! Hopefully Faulkner had a good set of Snow tires with studs on them!!
With that Red color the neighbor kids would think Santa Dan is making his rounds!
But I am sure he (Faulkner) is snug and warm in the garage....Right?
Boy-Mother Nature gave us a pass on that storm!! Sidney missed major snow by a thread. Am planning to install my Carlisle aquired gas tank and John Fowlie aquired filler neck etc. soon. Will convert my trunk mounted fuel cell into a moonshine tank and put the old plym to work when the roads clear in the hollows. So if you notice a faint gasoline smell next time you crack open a mason jar you'll know why. Merry Christmas everyone. Steve
Hey Guys, I didn't mean to P____ you off. I know, you are trying to get even by sending me some of your cold weather. Took the dogs out this morning and snuck a peek at the thermometer, 48 degrees, had to go back inside and turn on the heat and get a jacket. By the way do ya'll get a funny smell when you turn on the heater, maybe it's just because its the first time I turned it on. Worst of all I had to wear a jacket to the car show yesterday. It was real funny watching people trying to stay in the sunny areas, normally we are looking for the shady spots. Oh well, whats a car guy to do in weather this horrible, guess we will have to wait it out a couble more days. All is not lost though, I can work in the garage today, all I have to do is turn on my powder coating oven and leave the door open. Should work, what ya'll think. I probably told you guys the cost of a new garage with lift is a new kitchen but at least you get the old oven for power coating. Hope you guys can get to a car show soon maybe it will improve your dispositions.
Your Friend,
Dick.
