Just back from Cape May...

Post by Faulkner »

...where Marie and I spent two days relaxing and riding our bicycles. A bit of Indian Summer and plain old fashioned good luck -- we had great weather, with shorts weather during the day, and a brisk evening but still no need for jackets.

In retrospect, I wish we would have stayed here:

But, I did spot this beauty on the Emlen Physick estate (Google it -- it's a beauty, designed by famed Philadelphian architect Frank Furness):

Can anyone tell me what it is? I could only tell, by looking at the axle caps... Rare, indeed. A hint: Built in Jersey, in the town of the same name.

ohh ohh pick me. Is it a 1916 Franklin?

PS I like the Hotel Belvedere! Is there a Hotel Sport Fury nearby?

Shoot no response to my guess on what type of car is it. I must be wrong and Dan is hanging me out to dry. Back to the dart board for my next guess! :)

Sorry, just waiting for more returns to come in, John!

...and I was wrong: There's no town by the name, but a county. Mercer!

Dunno what year, though. The guy sitting in the car was talking on a cell phone (not an original accessory, BTW), so I didn't get to ask him.

Roger, I thought Essex first, but when I googled it it said Hudson had come up with that name from the Engish town when they wanted to make that price class. I had then came upon a picture of a Franklin with the same rear window style as this 'Camden" I guess they used that window treatment on many a car. Rats! foiled again!

But I did like the Belvedere Hotel!!! I need to Photo shop my convert infront of it, Once I get done with the floors...Which reminds me to get back out to the garage and keep cutting the floor pieces and trial fitting them. Hope to be done with one side by this weekend. I hope....
