Front Valance for 59 Sport Fury?

Post by bthpttrsn »

Hello everyone - I'm new to the forum and am very excited to have found a group of people that are also interested in the 59 Plymouth! Anyone know where I can get a front valance for a 59 sport fury? I believe that is what the part is called - it is the large piece that appears on the front to the bottom of the bumper and lowers the car profile closer to the ground. Thanks!! Beth

Welcome to the Forum - The front valance on a 59 Plymouth is probably one of the most difficult things to find in any condition. You might try www.fremansauto.com in Whitehall, MT. He has at least 15
59 Ply. on his lot and access to a lot more. Good luck.
Dick.

Thanks for the info Dick. I just submitted the parts inquiry form on their site. I'll keep my fingers crossed and see what I hear back from them.

Hello Beth,
You may also try John Fowlie at the following:
bigmauto@colusanet.com
Freman's can be slow in replying, so exercise patience!
You can also look on eBay, or have Matthew Keij search eBay for you!

Here are some other potential sources:
ctcautoranch.com
partsofthepast.com
classicautopartsonline.com Lists 3 '59s
mooresautosalvage.com Lists ten '59s
208-536-6607
800-905-8024 aka www.dvap.com Lists 4 '59s (quite stripped of parts however)

Thanks for the great links! I've written to John Fowlie and he is taking a look for me. Also, I had written to partsofthepast.com last week but doesn't look like they have one. Also, waiting to hear back from classicautopartsonline.com and mooresautosalvage.com to see if they have the piece. Looks like the 59's at dvap are indeed pretty well picked over. Thanks again for the info. We'll see what I find out from them and will hope for the best.

If you have a valance, you should consider having it repaired. Valances are truly the first piece that is destroyed on these cars, either by driving over a parking stopblock, or when the wrecker comes, he puts the tow device under the front end and lifts the hoist, and there goes the valance.
