Dan - Happy new year to you and yours and all the 59 Plymouth gang. I'm excited about the movies BUT all I get is a black screen that won't open. HELP!
Dick.

Dick, if you scroll down, do you see this at the bottom of the black screen?

Those are the video controls. You have to click the little arrow to the left to make the video start.

Oh, and is your DVD player flashing "12:00"? I can help with that too

More videos! Here's a collage from "Falling Angels" (Thanks, Ron):

And here's a TV News spot on the movie "That Night", as well as clips from the movie itself (Thanks, Curt):

Dan - I know you don't think much of my computer skills but I did happen to spot the Video Controls at the bottom of the screen. I clicked on the play button and got an instant connecting message and a ready message. I clicked again and nothing happened, I even waited quite a while for it to pop up but again, nothing but a black screen. I tried it again on your latest post of Jan. 01. "Falling Angels" and "That Night". Still a black screen. I do appreciate all you do and the help you have given me in the past but if you prefer I didn't bother you, let me know. My wife can get rid of the "blinking twelves" but the only thing she knows about computers is how to play solitaire.
Thanks,
Dick.

Hi Dick,

I think your Media Player needs an update or there is a security setting blocking your acces to this video. Maybe we can trick this by clicking these links:

https://59plymouth.net/ephemera/video/M ... Angels.wmv

You will get a pop up screen asking you if you want to open it or save it to your comuter. Try using save as and store the file on your computer and remember where you store it (my documents?). Then go to the "my documents" folder and open the file from there. If that works you can do the same with the next two links and if it doesn't we will have to work on something else. How about coming over and watch it on my computer?

https://59plymouth.net/ephemera/video/M ... tNight.wmv

Good luck!
Ron

Not at all, Dick -- I was just having a little fun at your expense, sorry. You could draw similar conclusions about my mechanical skills

Hmm... I have an idea. Try going directly to this link, and see if you can launch a video:

https://59plymouth.net/ephemera/video/M ... tNight.wmv

If Windows Media Player plays it, that suggests that you have a problem with Shockwave, the software that is used in the embedded video player. If that's the case, you may need to install the Shockwave player from here:

http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

Shockwave and Flash are computer add-on software, but they're so ubiquitous these days that most computers already have it. Give that a try and report back -- we'll try some more things if that doesn't work.

No new content here -- just a reorganization of existing content:

I'm starting to get the hang of this JAlbum software! the tricking part is weaving subfolders into folders, and integrating the new format into the old format... (*sigh*) all it takes is time. Now, if only someone would put Faulkner back together in time for Carlisle (hint, hint, Matthew  ), I'll just keep plugging away at it...
