Norm Maenner's Sport Fury sold

Norm Maenner advertised his Sport Fury for sale in "The Bulletin", the publication of the Plymouth Owner's Club. Here is his car in the showcase:
https://59plymouth.net/showcase/maenner.html. I just now spoke to Norm -- he sold it on the first call! He received the down payment, and will finish the transaction in April with the return of better weather.
I've asked Norm to let the new owner know about our website... I hope we hear from him soon.

Doing a little detective work here. ----- I talked with Harvey Weaver, Rochester, MN (via telephone) recently and he told me he purchased a '59 Sport Fury in Ohio. He said the car needed a right side medallion, otherwise the car is in excellent shape. I should have asked him who he purchased the car from but didn't. Anyway, I checked the "Showcase" and see that Norm's Ohio car seems to be missing a right side medallion. Is Harvey the new owner?? Next time I talk to him I'll surely ask him. Harvey a big time Plymouth guy having owned numerous Plymouths, including some '59's. He has 6 Plymouths at present ('50's & '60's). BUT he has no computer. I've been trying for a few years now trying to get him "on the grid" but with no success. So if anyone has a right side medallion for sale let me know and I will put you in touch with Harvey.

what is Harvey doing buying ANOTHER SF? ...can't get enough, or can't live without? Maybe he sold his other one (its been years since I've heard from him). Maybe he gives them a thorough spiffing up, then sells them?
Thanks for the interesting news.

You gotta give Harvey credit. He must be about 75 and he's still going strong. Most guys his age down size or completely get out of the hobby. But he's healthy and when I see him at Iola he's full of pep and the nicest guy you want to meet. I have a neighbor that's also about 75 and he builds hot rods one at a time and then sells them and starts on another one. He does body work, fabrication, paint, the whole nine yards. Keeps him going. Let's hope our interests stays with us.
Getting back to Harvey, he sold his red SF convertible - I never did get details. (I just don't ask enough questions
) In the latest Plymouth Bulletin I see he has 2 Plymouths for sale - a '65 Sport Fury convert for $19,999 and a '68 Fury III convert for $6500. As for Harvey being unable to live without a SF - I think you're (Roger) right on. Those damn '59's are addictive. Harvey said he plans on taking the SF to the 2009 Plymouth National Summer Meet which is being held June 17 - 21, at Oconomowoc, WI. (Say that cities name real fast 10 times
)

Just an update, I spoke with Harvey Weaver today to see what he was up to. I had gone last Fall to look at his 59 SF convertible. He still has the 59 SF convertible, and don't think he plans to sell it at this point. It was Norm Maenner's 59 SF that Harvey purchased. He is a very nice guy, and I stayed over when I came to see his car since it was such a long drive from Indiana.

Thanks for the update, Tim. Is Harvey a computer-phobe? We'd love to hear from him -- and get pix!

His computer is still in storage from when he lived in Tennessee, and he told me the times he has looked for it he couldn't find it.

Also, Harvey said he was looking for the 8 clips that hold the lower chrome at the bottom of the back window on the SF hardtop he has. I told him I would post to see if anyone had them. Should probably be in the wanted area. Anyway, got to go, have an early flight for Houston in the morning.

sorry, not absorbing this well...when did Harvey Weaver live in Tennessee? Asa long as I've been a classic Plymouth owner (1993) Harvey has been in Minnesota. 17 years is a long time to misplace a computer..

There could be some miscommunication, but I thought that was what he said.

Harvey had/has a winter home in Tennessee (it gets coldddd in MN) I believe he said he sold it recently (might be wrong there) I've been telling him for a long time to get on the internet but with no success. I heard thru grapevine he was at Iola this past weekend but did not run into him. I visited him a couple years ago in Rochester, MN on way back from Kansas City - planned to stay about an hour - turned into about 5 hours. Interesting fellow. I know he sold his convertible to a guy in Wis Rapids, WI about 2 years ago but the guy returned it a couple days later. Didn't like something about it. I thought he sold it again (might be wrong there too, will check next time I see him).
