Production numbers and motor mounts
Production numbers and motor mounts
I have seen the different production totals for Sport Fury, and Fury, but not Belvedere or Savoy. My main question is I have never seen a breakdown of how many models of each type came with the 361 Commando engine ?. From what I read you could get that engine in everything except for one of the Savoys. Is that correct ? Are the motor mounts different from the 318 to the 361 ? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

production breakdown
Hello Tim,
The production numbers you ask for I have taken out of a book called Standard Catalog of Chrysler 1924-1990, by Krause Publications.
The total number of Belvederes produced was 169,910.
The total production of Savoys was 182,464.
The book does not break down the application of various engines.
It is possible to write to the Chrysler Historical Society and get a print-out of YOUR particular car based on VIN number, but I don't think there is a list anywhere of how many 318's and 361's were made, or in which cars they were put.
And yes, I believe there IS a difference between 318 and 361 motor mounts. If I read the Parts Book correctly, the part numbers ARE different. I would post a copy of the Parts Book page, but I don't know how to do that. If yo send me your personal Email address, I can take a picture of the page and send it to you.
