The inner seal is usually the problematic seal. Any real autoparts supply can find them, I can look up numbers when I get to work.

Thanks Master Mechanic Rick! No rush of course! If you find a store here in Denver or one that your shop uses I can run by them and pick them up.

I still use old catalogs just to find numbers, and some interchange.

Old school eh? Works for me! Do you need me to dig up the original Mopar part numbers for these seals?

John - I got mine at NAPA no problem, usually if they don't have it in the store, it's next day.

Thanks Dick! I have Rogers numbers printed out and will stop by them later today and get both inners and outers, or at least get them on order today and have them on Thursday.

Re: Colorado Belvedere Convertible progressing
Dick, you were right! Went to NAPA on the way home and ordered up the two inner and outer seals, One could be in tomorrow but the other will be in on Friday.
So now I can do the repairs this weekend and get the car back on the ground and brakes bled!
Here are the NAPA part number Dick spoke about:
inner axle seals #15207
outer axle seals #13797
Have not paid for them yet but will when I pick them up on Friday. And will relay what the costs are for these.
Thanks for everyone help on this issue.

Re: Colorado Belvedere Convertible progressing
Recent pictures of the new rear axle seals going in. Plus, as long as the rear brakes and axle shafts were removed, Ricky Mopar (Rick Clapham) decided that my 413 RB needed better gears then the highway 2.94 ratio. He dug out another 8 3/4 center chuck with 3.58 ratio open gears that he had take out of an old 59 SF a long, long time ago. Rick also helped out with the needed drum puller and seal setting tools need to make all the new parts go into position.
Everything went in well. Had to use a second hydraulic jack to help lift the pumkin near the opening but was able to push it in from there with a new gasket too!
Started the rear drum brake re-assembly process with new cylinders and NORS relined brake shoes I scored here in town.

Re: Colorado Belvedere Convertible progressing
Here are the before pictures of the axle ends before disassembly. The Drives side did not leak but replaced it anyhow since it was right there. The passenger side was the leaky one. So that is what started it all besides the wheel cylinders would not bleed at all due to junk and corrosion in the cylinders.

Q. - Nice work, I will do that on my convert. also. Question? what are those two doobers between the bucket and the gear set, kinda look like handles from a grinder??

Re: Colorado Belvedere Convertible progressing
John F. is spot on! They are in fact Seal drives. Rick Clapham brought over 3 of them for me to use to drive in the outer and inner seals for the axle. Beats using a large socket on them and it much better install.

John; Did you check out the pad below the pinion that shows the numeric axle ratio. If the number like 3.58 is followed by the letter 'S' this means the unit is a sure grip unit. Example 3.58 S
