Hey, Thats the lake between our towns, I see the flatirons behind the Plymouth in the one picture. You need the bumper sticker; If you don't like the way I drive. Stay off the sidewalk!

Is that what the sign seen on the utility pole in the sidewalk shots say?
Or something like " Mr Quinn's Highway"
The rain has closed in here...love your pics.

Yeah.. took a chance on the sidewalk shot, Had to wait till traffic cleared to step into the street to take my Pics.

The pink Mopar is Rick's wife Debbie 71 Challenger convertible, Pretty neat car! Ron and Marjo were able to ride in it when they were here a year or so ago.
Rick Lives on the North Side of the lake and I live on the South west side, about 10 mins away which is convenient when mooching off his technical knowledge and raiding some of his cars for parts!! :o

East of Colo Springs..on hwy 94, is Ellicott, where there is/was an auto salvage yard. I only saw it in a video made some 10-15 years ago. I wonder if the yard is still there. They had irregular hours of operation, but they had some good stuff.

The yard is there, I found a friend of ours stolen 58 Dodge Coronet convertible in there. The owner/manager, tried to charge us storage fees. We convinced him otherwise..So good luck. The mostly complete cars in there belong to someone else. The yard is actually in the township of Callahan. Nearly every Forward Look Member Knows of this storage yard.

It would be nice to find any Convertible Forward Look car in any salvage yard...Those days are gone I believe. Maybe a few "Car in a Barn/Garage' stories still out there. But very few of them are left.

My car in the middle of a Montana Prairie ranks up there but I was told about it rather then stumble upon it...

Was the 58 Dodge cvt the one seen in the video? Needing a total restoration..like I said, the video has to be 10+-15years old.
I believe you are right in saying that all the medium to big yards have been "discovered", crushed, pushed out or shut down. That leaves the rare private yards such as Ragtop's discovery up in Conifer

My '59 is a long way from being on the road, I guess I could put pics up of my other Mopars that are a bit more presentable, though.

Here are a few photos.
My '59 Dodge Custom Royal, mostly original paint. We drove up to Reno for Hot August Nights, a friend was visiting from North Carolina, and he drove his black '57 with us. The eyelashes on the Dodge were a gift from my mother to my wife.

These photos were from 2008, I had gotten a '58 Dodge Custom Sierra into the wrecking yard that was abandoned by a hot rod shop after they threw all the trim away. The body only had minor rust, so I told M'lisa I would restore it and we'd take it on a trip around the country for our honeymoon. The car came in the yard in late April, and we headed to eastern Tennessee in mid October.

I was invited to Retromania in Palm springs this fall, featuring actors and vehicles from the movies American Graffitti, and Christine. I have been supplying parts for the restoration of the two remaining Christine movie cars that are owned by Bill Gibson, and Martin Sanchez, so they invited me. It was a 500 mile drive each way, but the '57 Fury is my daily driver, so no concerns there.

Malcolm Danare [played Moochie Welch in Christine] had a seat in the Fury-

Bill Ostrander [played Buddy Repperton in Christine]

All the folks I met there were really nice, and happy to answer questions.
