Now, here's a Cuban car with amazing gas mileage! I wonder what the brake horsepower is (in feet-pounds/minute)?
(Love those fender skirts, Matthew!)

Four weeks from today, I will be in Cuba! Looking for this Fury, sans stainless. Hmmm... Not recognizing this factory color!

...and the '59's, they keep on comin'. Could Cuba have the single largest concentration of '59's per capita in the world?
Nah! That would be the Netherlands!

Another silver '59. There is a telltale difference from the one two posts up (Matthew could prolly spot 6!) - do you see what it is?
Hey Matthew! I'll try to photograph VINs if I see any of these wrecks driving around. Of course, they might be from Chevys!

I know I keep blabbing away here about Cuba, but I will the there in 5 days! I just watched a cool film called "Havana Motor Club" which is not yet out for general release - but the Director and Producer gave me a private link to download. I would love to post it here, but I gave my word I would not. But keep a look out for it - you can read more about it here: http://havanamotorclub.com/
A really wonderful movie that shows the real Cuba, the level of both deprivation and ingenuity, and the Cuban love for American Iron.

Some gifts for my Cuban friends. Jeebus, they would think they've died and gone to heaven if set loose in a Harbor Freight. Thirteen bucks a pop for these socket wrench sets, and because I spent over $25, the screwdrivers were free. It's freakin' amazing.
Three days from now, I'm sippin' rum and cola on the Malecon, watching the Chebbies drive by! In search of the elusive '59 Sport Fury...

Greetings from Miami airport. (Did you see me waving from the plane, Dick?) Signing out until Tuesday, when I'll be back with a boatload of pix.

I love watching Cuban Chrome on the Velocity. I feel so sorry for them on what they have to do to get one of these cars up and running with parts from any car they would somehow make it work it their cars.
