Re: Great Lake Shipwrecks
I guess we (I) should be gender neutral on ships. Fin59 was in the Coast Guard so I will defer to him on the gender part.
Cars.... The few times I have named a car it was a femine name. I guess I will just start calling all my cars "Pat" so that I will be both right and wrong at the same time. (my wife says I am always wrong anyhow...)

Ahhhh but wait... I "Googled" my firmly held belief that Ships are always considered in the feminine form and Voila. Here it is to back me up. Though, the trend is to be gender neutral (Like Hurricanes were always Feminine till recently)
Here is the link for support of what I was saying about female gender on ships.

Ricky,
That is too many cars for one person to own
I only had one car at a time until I was 34 years old!!!
It was my 59 Plymouth and a 64 Chebby Susper Sport Impala Convertible that I restore and sold 5 years later. I've been a single (old car) owner since 1994! I made the right decision when 1 car had to go... I love my 59 Plymouth

Re: Great Lake Shipwrecks
Too many? Prices in mid 70's were really good, for special interest and mile stone vehicles. I believe I paid about a months salary for all of them. I sold most of these to friends over the years.

Dan, If you really want to split hairs, then call John to task for the typo he made in his Sep 23 post in this thread...

Re: Great Lake Shipwrecks
I call my 59 Plymouth "Bernice", i started that when people at cruise nights would ask me if it's a Christine car.Fins59 wrote:Yup, I have never heard a ship referred to as a "he", always a "she", but what the heck.
On the other hand......cars......some guys refer to their car as "he" and some "she". Wonder how that's determined?
My car was named "Penny" by the previous owner because of it's color, but I kind of look at the car as if it was a "he".
I'm going to crawl under her/him? one of these days and look at the chassis
I was in a smart ass mood one night and the name Bernice just came to me in my reply which was "No, this is Bernice, she's Christine's younger sister!
Ordinarily i dont name my cars or trucks, but i had a 82 Plymouth Reliant that i used for work transportation and i called it "Rebecca".
