Almost positive I can make it to Carlisle on the 9th for a few hours at least. My car isn't going. My Dad and maybe my little brother, are coming with me to keep each other awake for a long weekend.

Whose cars will be there. Sounds dumb but I've never seen a 1959 Plymouth I didn't own except in pictures. It will really help put mine together.

On another note, I don't need a headlight switch. I pulled every bulb and electrical connector apart, inside and out, cleaned the terminals with with vinegar, and re-attached one questionable ground in the drivers side headlight and now everything works but the flashers. I think I'll replace the flasher since all the bulbs light.

What other cars shared our dashboard? I saw a picture of a 1959 Dodge Mayfair, and it's dash layout was nearly identical. Might help me find better condition pushbuttons or at least the surround tubes.

The Mayfair was an export-only model...Canada and Australia for example. Don't spend time looking specifically for a Mayfair or Regent as they are rare, and not even in this country!

The Mayfair is 75% Plymouth (Plymouth Body) and the front clip is Dodge. The interior is Plymouth too! The are called Plodges (Pl ymouth & D odge)


Built for the Canadian market and its population demographics that Chrysler Marketing Dept. was going after to give them something that is the best of both models.

They were exported like Roger mentioned!

OK, Thanks,That explains it, the picture was from a salvage yard in Montreal, saw it on the Forward Look Forum. Still have to try to get contact info, looked like some of the parts need (push button surrounds, dash vents, steering column cover) might still be on it or the 59 Savoy they have. Sheet metal and interior looked shot, but there is a chance the plastic survived, I hope anyways.

Congratulations, you have found parts cars for your needs! But because it is a Pick-A-Part place, you will need to drive up there and beat the bushes to find and pull your parts. It can be fun... I made many an excursion into overgrown, wet, muddy salvage yards to get my parts. Very memorable indeed.
With John, you can have your parts mailed to you.

I got an e-mail from John at Big-M and he has quite a few of the parts I need. Between him and Ron, that's almost every thing.
I still need:
the lower front valance
push button surrounds
front chrome strip with clips for the hood
front turn signal lenses

Maybe we can make your list even shorter, I must have a front chrome strip for the hood somewhere but we need some time to locate it. We might also have used turn signal lenses and some push buttons. I am sure we have some pretty good push buttons too but I want to keep them as spares as they are really hard to find in decent condition.

The lower front valance is probably the hardest part to find and if you'll find one be prepared to spend serious money

Please don't give or sell me the push buttons then. I really don't want to impose on any ones "personal" stash of parts. I know how hard they've been for me to locate in the states, I can only imagine how hard they are to find there. John at Big M hasn't replied on those yet, so there is still a chance to get them from him.
If you have the front strip though, and can spare it, that would be great. John at Big M doesn't have one.
The front valance I will have to wait until after my wedding to find one. I'm sure your right, if I can locate one it will be out of my price range for a while. That's OK, 95% of the people who see my Savoy don't realize it's missing. She doesn't look bad without it, just incomplete in my eyes.
If someone has a picture of the proper clips for the hood trim strip, can you please post them, I have a feeling I may have to fabricate them, I've had no luck turning any of those up. Or maybe if I knew what they look like I can find them at Carlisle. (fingers crossed)

A contact I never tried, but I see their ad every month in Hemmings for years and years:

Well, as long as everyone is looking for parts for Jeff, I am also looking for a left parking lense too! Hopefully I can grab one before Jeff at the Carlisle swap meet.
