Great photos of a really exciting project!
What shade of Red is that? Did you go with a '59 factory color?
Will it complement the upholstery?
Why did you set the rocker moldings before painting? (Did you want to drill the necessary holes, then have the holes painted to avoid later rust?)

The color really stands out! Is it Viper Red or the true 59 Color? Or somewhere in between? I am jealous you got your car in paint sooner then mine! Is it base coat or clear coat type?
Can't wait to see the picures of the side trim on to really get the final look to a great ride!

Stefan,
You know what they say: Beauty knows no pain If you like the antennas just go for it and drill a hole and you can make your own picture.
My pictures will follow in a couple of weeks, we concentrate on the inside first and let the paint dry a little longer.

We gave the paint guy our paint chips and he found the formula for the color. It is almost the same as it was though. And it is really hard to see when it is so freshly painted and shiny. We do like the color very much and even if it isn't an exact factory color it will be the color for the next 20 years My interior will stay like it is for a while, I need more funds to get it like it came from the factory.
The rocker mouldings were put on to check if the newly drilled holes (thanks again for the clips Roger!) were alligned. We took them off the same night and we hope to have them back on the car in about 6 weeks. I can use the holes to spray a protective coating on the inside of the rocker first.
It will be at least 2 more weeks before the car will be home and we can start with the trim. Matthew started polishing the bright work yesterday so it will be ready to go on.

I heartily agree (did not mean to cast doubt on the shade of Red). It is fabulous!

I didn't think you did! Tomorrow I'll go to the shop to see the actual color, the paint will be dry and all the masking paper will be gone. Maybe I can take it outside for a picture in the sun, prediction is that the weather will be nice all week here.

Here's the pictures in the sun and without all the masking. The blemishes that seem to be on both sides are the trim holes that still have a piece of masking tape on the inside.

You wouldn't want me to paint your car I can make good pics and video of it but I leave the painting to the professionals. It looks very easy but after trying the primer myself I must say it is not as easy as it looks. If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know, even without the Concorde it is only a 20 hour trip including the transfer to the airport
