where to look for this

Post by rogerh »

I have an urge to view a picture of John Fowlie's '59 airport limo...but I can't recall where to dig up that photo. Help...?

Easy, Roger -- I just looked up a post where John had posted recently (I remembered he responded to Ron's Carlisle post), and clicked on the link for his username:

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=73

There's a "search user's posts" link there (as there is on yours), I clicked that and put "limo" in the search box. BAM! That's all there was too it. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain...

I did not search "users posts", I did a general Search. That must be the difference. :D

So, this was 3 years ago, I know John Fowlie has a lot on the go, but did he ever do anything with this limo?

last picture I saw of it it was under a mini-Quonset type open garage that I saw on the Foward Look web site earlier this year.

I'd like to see that pic, if you can direct me to it.
I scanned FL and found an email from John F saying he found room for it in the barn.......
It has no engine or tranny, and needs all the usual stuff.

I really haven't had a chance to do much with the airporter as of yet, but do have the seats all reupholstered, going with white/yellow for the interior, and mostlikely silver for the exterior. I'll be using a later 383 engine with 727 trans for the running gear. There is a lot of floor repairs and exterior bodywork that will need to be done as well.

After completing the Sport Fury, I need to get on the wife's '69 Hurst/Olds to have ready for the Oldsmobile Nationals in Reno next year, I also gave her the '59 DeSoto convertible I picked up last year, not to mention my other future projects, the '58 300 D fuelie, and '58 Fury. I never buy nice cars, and have to start with dilapidated examples, so this keeps me out of the bars, I guess.

I can be patient, John. Remember you owe me a ride in the Airporter when it's finished!
