Just noticed that the 59 Belvedere convertables are pricier that the 59 SF convertables . Is this due to their rarity?? Not that i would ever sell my old girl "Down River".

Gosh Steve, Being an owner of a 59 Belvedere Convertible, this does not surprise me at all
Due to the simpler trim lines, wonderful interior selections that cry out "look at me I don't have lots of money", Lack of gaudy Bling like theTiffany Plate on the quarter panel, defines simpler elegance not see in the pretentious upper crust SF models. Worth more??? You bet!
Though, I have coveted a SF Convert and was, for a brief moment, tempted to upgrade to the SF trim for vain reasons. But upon seeing that I had no money left to spend on the car,Two kids in College I decided to stay a Belvedere trim level.

As you know, my car is a combination of original Iowa Belvedere and Idaho Sport Fury hardtop. When it came time to "Choose" my car's identity, I was blinded by the desire to own Mother Mopar's top-of-the-line Plymouth for 1959. Seems now I made a mistake... .
Roger, your car is great! Just having some fun. By no means was I talking bad about your gem. Beats me why the SF would be less then a lower trim level Belvy in the Old Car Price guide.
I would love to have a SF Convert. I should have bought the 59 SF convert that RagTop had in Colorado Springs. Passed on it due to not having money available. It is still up in Wyoming as of today with a new owner, maybe I will get another chance again when I am a little more flush with Dinero's and the current owner tires of the project.

I know YOU were joking around, John, but how does one argue with the Old Car Price Guide? Belv cvts are probably rarer, due to the fact that they were the less-expensive model. The SFs would have been treated better,with greater survival rate. ALso, thanks to MM (and others), at least a few Belvs are dressed out as SFs.
Old Cars Pricing guides will have price fluctuations as the prices are based solely on auction results. There may have been a Belvy convertible that was bid up to high $s at a recent auction, which caused the price spike noted in the guide.

Another reason could be that the people who were able to spend some extra money on a luxury car did not want lower line model but most of the wanted the top of the line. So Plymouth probably sold a lot more Sport Fury convertibles than Belvedere's. For me any 59 Plymouth convertible is still a dream car and I don't care if it is a Belvy or a SF.
Roger, I always wanted to know how many Converts of both trim levels were built. Thanks for the production info! Always a wealth of info from the Northwest part of the country.
