59 Plymouth 4 Door Hardtop Paint.

Post by aussie59plymouth »

Hi finally got the car to the spray booth after 5 years getting panel repaires done. Looks awsome in the original Flame Red and Iceberg White. Just got to finish the chassis to put the body back on. I have put a post in the Wanted section as well. I need some weather strip transition pieces for the rear doors and some bump stops for the front doors. Thanks Deano.

At Carlisle this year there were two folks that had four door hardtops. We joked about them being the only two known to exist and low and behold here's another. Looks great!! Steve

Thanks Steve,
Well if there is two in America amagine how many there is in Australia? I have actually bought another that was totally rusted for parts. So I guess that makes two for the Aussies. :) Deano

For those who want to hear a bit more about Dean's story, there's his webpage in the Showcase:

I see you've painted a white streak on the sides. I assume this is because the anodized trim is so difficult to find. Come to think of it, were some cars delivered this way, with the aluminum filler strips being an option? Hmmm...

Inserts were only standard on Sport Fury and Fury

The car did come with the annodized inserts but they were in very poor condition. So I had to go with the white strip option.

Deano, I will be doing the same on my Convert till I get the strips re- anodized or decide to just paint them to save the cost. Car looks great!

Does someone have a cost estimate do have the strips re-anodized and recommend a place to get his done at?

thanks!

I recommend folks get their trim reanodized by the Dutch guy who did Ron's :D

He got a real deal on his, but the shipping is going to kill the rest of us... :?

I'd be more than happy to work with anyone who wants their inserts or other parts reanodized (it worked out great on my grille!). And the shipping isn't what is killing you but the weak dollar versus a strong Euro will probably kill you. And maybe the shipping could be complicated if the long pieces are longer than the max. lenght allowed by USPS. Let me know if your interested, I will go there tomorrow to get my tail lights rechromed and maybe we can get a club discount price

The anodized insert strips CAN be "rolled up" for shipping...
