VIN number decoding
VIN number decoding
Can the month of manufacture be determined from the VIN number?
The Canadian '59 Savoy that was viewed by Terry a couple of weeks ago may soon be in my posession. Importing involves some red tape. The import forms ask for month of manufacture and GVWT including front and rear axle. The owner wasn't able to find those details marked on the door nameplate. Is there another label somewhere that gives that information?
What can be determined from the following off the door nameplate?
Serial No. M239-101577
Model: M-P-2-L-4
Body: 1225
Paint: PPP
Trim: MK4
Can you recommend a good Plymouth "bible"?
Thanks,
Joe T

JT, I can't answer your questions, but I'll recommend two folks who perhaps can:
Jim Benjaminson [benji@utma.com]
Bob Hinds [robert.hinds@juno.com]
Bob Hinds is also the '59 technical director for the Plymouth Owner's Club. Contact me privately if you want his phone number.
Best of luck. Send pix when you have 'em!
