Schuyler Wrobel graphic

Post by Faulkner »

Some of you may be familiar with the graphics that Schuyler has done for car clubs:

The Poly 318 Mailing List

The '62 to '65 Mopar Web Site

Schuyler has his own website here: http://artbysky.org/

...and he has agreed to do a graphic for our club! So here's the question: What should be the stylized feature we should ask him to put on the graphic, and what should the graphic say? I think the grille with the hipped fenders over the headlights might be a good choice -- or, the fins. Both are distinctive for '59. And perhaps it could say something like "Celebrating 50 Years of Engineering Excellence -- 59Plymouth.net" or something like that.

What are your thoughts? Let's come to agreement, and put Schuyler to the task. I'll be putting the graphic on T-shirts, given away (because of a benefactor) at Carlisle 2009 to '59 Plymouth owners and associates. Put your thinking caps on!

Dan, how about a full front view of the grille and headlights on the front of the shirt and a full rear view of the fins on the back of the shirt? Kinda comin' and goin'

That is a super idea if Schuyler can come up with a stylized representation of both ends or would there be too much going on for him? Certainly grill and eyebrows are almost a must. The text tells it all, but could it be too much to say on a teeshirt? The minimum would be "50 Years of Excellance-59Plymouth.net" Put me down for an XLg unless this years diet works somehow! Steve

I missed this topic and just found it but I think Tom's idea is great. Tom does this mean that you'll be coming and goin' to Carlisle 2009 :?:

You can put me down for a Large, I don't do diets.

Coming and going is a great idea! How about having those images done in the old "Big Daddy Roth" Rat Fink style! Way exaggerated vehicles (leave out the Rat himself) - front wheels in the air, and rear tires burning two long patches thanks to good old Sure-Grip differential. Hot Rod Magazine featured a tech question letter at the back of the magazine in summer of '59 with a similar rear graphic, and it was quite good (be sure to get the Sport Deck in there!) Not sure of the date of the issue but I'd guess it was the summer if anyone has a copy. Hope to be in Carlisle anyway I can this year. BB
