hello,
I was viewing the Imperial pages..he has a ahort liating of salvage yards selling parts. Can we assemble one of these for 59 plymouths??

I agree Roger - I don't want to hurt anyones feelings because I know our webmaster is a great guy and is doing a wonderful job and I know he has a ton of stuff to put on the site plus a million other thing he has to take care of. I'm sure we all aplaude you Dan, It's a job I could not do with my limited computer knowledge and would not have the time to do anyway. BUT I have some suggestions for our link page if and when anyone is interested.

Sounds like a very good idea to me. Knowing our webmaster is too busy with work right now maybe I can assist. My computer skills are not too bad and I think that if I Dan can provide me with a format I can set up a page and maintain it. I do need Dan's approval and your input though!

If someone wants to augment the website with content, it would be a big help to me! Just create your own pages within the members section, e.g., a "Links" page, and I'll repoint the link on the main page to it.

I have unlimited space, so upload whatever you want! If you don't already have a members account and want to play around, drop me a line and I'll set you up.

I've been using "JAlbum" to create member pages lately, here's where you can get the free software: http://www.jalbum.net/

I've been using the Chameleon "skin" plug-in for JAlbum, available here for free: http://www.lazaworx.com/chameleon/

While it would be great to preserve the look and feel of the site by using JAlbum, use whatever you want! And if I can help, let me know.

Sorry I've been so preoccupied with work. Ron knows a bit about my troubles, but hopefully by May things will settle down. In the meantime, webmasters, start your engines!!

Hello to all,
A lot has changed since I began to restore my car back in 1994.
Back then, the home computer was still a relatively new thing.
Salvage yards were just beginning to advertise "on-line".
Most local salvage yards were run the old-fashioned way...you drove to the yard, bringing your own tools, and pulled the part yourself. The yards did not ship parts to all parts of the world.
Salvage yarding was an adventure here in the Pacific NW. You battled blackberry bushes, rain, and cold. In the summer it was easier, only blackberry bushes, and occasionally, bees.
With envionmental rules getting ever tougher, liability insurance going up, the soaring price for land, suburban sprawl, the finite supply of older cars, and now the climbing value of scrap metal, vintage salvage yards are mostly gone from the greateer Seattle area.
My car is restored now, and I haven't kept current with places that have parts for our 1959's. I no longer subscribe to Hemming's Motor News.
I occasionally "window-shop" on-line at places such as cctol.com and Hemmings.com.
Thru the years, some of my best "finds" came from visiting area swap meets.
I will try to compile a list of useful leads to share.

I know about this link, but I also remember some people complaining about what/who wasn't on this list. For instance John Fowlie (Big M) is not included while he is one of the best parts suppliers for us. Same goes for Gary Goers.

And there must be a lot of others offering parts or services.
