Hi Dick, to my knowledge, the factory installed just the dash mounted A/C units. Dealer air had the under dash units, and at most shows, these are considered a 'correct' item. ---John

Thanks John - Thats what I thought, there is a guy on e-bay with an under dash unit that he took out of a 59 Plymouth, must have been dealer installed. He is parting out a 59 4dr. hardtop Fury.

Dick, if it is the same one I had seen from a seller in Colorado, it appears to be an aftermarket unit from the '70's. The Mopar units were more square, with three large round registers in the front. ---John

Big M John is correct..the factory only installed the in-dash units. If you have the 1959 Mopar Parts Book, there are "exploded" views of the various dealer-installed under-dash units. I'll send you a picture of the page if you want, Dick.

Hi Roger - I found the exploded view of the dealer installed under dash unit, its ugly, glad I have the factory unit.
Thanks,
Dick.

Going on memory from a decade ago, but the '59 Fury I almost snagged had the under dash dealer A/C - black, rounded corners and round white vents on the front and sides.

Does your exploded view pic look anything like that?

No, In the 59 parts book page 24AG it shows a Model D system, it is a large rectangular unit with square edges and three large round registers in the front, none on the sides.
