Plymouth Owners Club New Directory

Post by Fins59 »

Any Plymouth Owners Club members out there? On the offering of the new Membership Directory - it will cost you 2 payments of $49.95. A company POC hired to produce the directory requests you send them info on your car/cars and 2 photos of each. A couple weeks later you receive a card in mail from company requesting you call them to verify and validate info you sent them. When you call, you get the sales pitch and they want credit card #'s or your bank router #. I declined their offer. I just read comments about this on the POC website and members who commented thought (as I did) that your membership dues covered this new directory. I think the cost should have been put up front in the initial offering. It would have saved me a Saturday of trying to take current photos of my Plymouth between the rain drops (its been raining here for 2 weeks). But the guy said the info and photos of your car will be in publication whether you buy one or not. On a positive note, "The Plymouth Bulletin" is one of the finest car club publications out there.

I have to agree about the Bulletin, John -- I look forward to it's arrival every two months.

I got an email inquiry about the directory, asking me to call -- I did and gave them my info, but they couldn't take a link to our website, and I balked at the huge fee. Seems awfully expensive... I may get around to sending in a pic, I dunno.

Yeah Dan - I got the card in the mail, called the number, gave them the information they wanted then got the sales pitch, I said "I don't think so" so they tried a lesser deal (softback instead of hardback book). I hate being blindsided like that.
