aluminum insert cleaning

hi. well i was sucessful in removing all the stainless on the weekend and i have it in for polishing. it was much easier than i thought it would be to remove.

the next item to tackle is the aluminum insert material. is this material easy to clean ? is there a specific cleaner that works well? i was wondering if an oven type cleaner would work.

any help would be greatly appreciated as i have one week left before the rodarama at the end of the month.

p.s we did pretty well at the world of wheels autorama a couple of weeks ago, people are always impressed with the old fury's.

I would not use oven cleaner, as many of those products are caustic and will eat through aluminum. I have had good success using the orange hand cleaner with the pumice, it will not scratch if used carefully. Most of the chrome and mag wheel polish products work well also.---John

I agree with Big John. The surface is real sensitive and oven cleaner might have abrasive components. I would use lack polish in order to remove the small, tiny dirty that is in the pores now. Anything more you might regret.

Centerline wheels only recommends Mother's Aluminum wheel cleaner for their Aluminum Mag wheels because it is non-abrasive - I found it helpful on all aluminum surfaces.
