Back of front bench seat ash tray color

What color is the metal of the ash tray on back of a front bench seat supposed to be? Can't find any clear photos. I got mine rust free down to the bare metal, was it then chromed like the surrounding lip? I see in the big parts book you could get one in primer color (I think black if I remember right, don't have page with me) ????

I cant speak from experience, because i havent owned a bench seat Plymouth, but I would hazard a guess that the ash receiver should be chrome-plated. The entry level Plymouth model (aka Savoy) did come totally bare-bones..painted details when other models had chrome, such as garnish moldings (interior window trim).

i have a bench savoy. front cover of tray is chrome, looks likeinside is either bare metal or has some kind of metal finish.--jeremy
