Faulkner emerges from cocoon!!

Faulkner has emerged! I picked him up from Bill Walsh today -- wow, does it run great!! Purrs like a kitten, and growls like a lion! Bill even painted the engine the original silver for me.

Not only did he do a phenomenal job on the installation, he also replaced the brake lines for me, flushed the system with alcohol, and put in DOT-5 fluid. Big relief; the old lines were rusty, and had me worried.

I drove over to my friend Ed Ober's house, and we inspected the handiwork -- including, the external damper pulley that Ed contributed to the cause (and saved my butt). Thanks again Ed!

I drove the "P" around town, and then returned it to the garage -- awaiting a warmer day, when I can put the interior back together.

It could very well be that my guests and I will go to Carlisle this year in Faulkner, if the stars align. Who else is planning to make it? We need to have a strong '59 Plymouth presence this year!

Youre lucky theres no snow or salt around,would be a shame to have to drive it home in anything like that!

Dan,

Congratulations!!!! You made the right choice, TWSM would have needed at least a year longer to get it done

If your guests can make the trip to Carlisle with Faulkner it would make their vacation even more worthwile

If you can pick Matthew up at the airport and bring him straight to the garage Faulkner will be ready in time for sure

We will have to bring him some food (read: order pizza) for him and put some bottles of coke in the trunk, when he sleeps on the back seat it shouldn't take more than 5 days

If the progress is OK we could even give him a day off on the fourth of July.

Yeah. That's provided he puts the back seat in first! There's still some shards of glass from when the "P" had some windows broken out in the Sterling yard. Could serve as additional motivation!

What can I say but "Wow - I am jealous"!

The car looks great and it must be a great feeling getting behind the wheel with more power to go and safer brakes to stop!

I love the pictures.

Here is hoping for warmer weather.

Thanks Curt -- but Faulkner is a "20 footer". At least, I was standing at 20 feet when I took the picture! Still, it sends a shiver up my spine when I look at him. It does feel great to have a great running car with good systems. There's lots to do, but my problems will be solved when I tear up Matthew's return ticket!

--i'm green w/ envy. car and engine look great! great to hear it worked out so well. i love it when a plan comes together! look forward to maybe catching it at a car show when mine is once again road-worthy and making the rounds.--jeremy
