Transmission ID

Post by vanguy16 »

Hey everyone.

Had people say it is a 727 and some say it isn't,
.
I need to figure the truth out.

59 Fury built in Canada. 313CID poly.
Pushbutton gear select.
From the top of the pushbuttons down, they go D N R 2 1.

I tried to take photos of the stamping but couldn't get enough light or the camera up into that area where I think the transmission ID is.

Should be a cast iron Torqueflite 3-speed.

Yes an A-466, not A727...1959 had 2 models, early and late.

How would I figure out if this early or late edition?

1959 a 466 shift cable.jpg
I think the shift cable difference would be the easiest check.
