Hot August Nights 2021

Post by PlumGr8SRT8 »

Anyone going to be attending this year? I will be there for a few days with my new-wifey, part of our mini honeymoon. So just curious if anyone will be attending.

I will be at the swap meet as a vendor, Reno is only a 3 hour drive for me. I'll probably have my Sport Fury there to go cruising in the evenings.

Yes, HOT but low humidity. You will see everything, you can imagine. Too many tri five chebies. We stayed in Falon 50 miles away and later have been staying in Sparks with a group of street rod clubs. Cruised Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, Carson City, Donner Pass and several mining towns. Salt wells and dry lake beds, Ghost towns on ATV tours were unbelievable.

Sounds fun enough. Plan is the weekend before to actually get married, we will spend a couple days in Tahoe, couple days in NAPA then a couple days in Reno. Sadly i won't have my Fury is its still in many pieces haha. But will be there to enjoy it regardless.

Just got back from Hot August nights.

I didn't see any '59's, other than my own, but there was a '57 Belvedere convertible, as well as a '58 Belvedere coupe with a 392 hemi.

Finished swap meet set up before 7 AM. My back was too tired to finish last night. Big thanks to Allan Benavidez for driving the truck and trailer up. Good buying crowd today, it seems.

After dinner, watching an ominous cloud creep up out of the north. Wish it were a storm, but it was smoke from nearby mountain towns burning.

Anyone visiting Reno-Sparks, the wonderful Nikki Knuckles has started music here, and made it a happening place again. The vacant lot across the street welcomed Toothless, our black sport Fury, and we parked to watch countless cruisers while relaxing.

Salt on pepper. Car covered in ashes the next morning.

During the day I was parked at the swap meet, in the evenings drove through the Atlantis, and parked along B street in Sparks next to the Elbow Room bar, and watched the cars cruise.
