Tire Pressure

Post by eroomas »

I have been driving with the tire pressure at 24 psi as the manual instructs, but my tires look flat at 24 psi and I'm getting a lot of vibration at high speeds (65 mph). I tried increasing tire pressure to 32 psi, tires look closer to right but I'm still getting vibration. My question is what psi do the majority of you use? and are some other causes should I be looking at for this vibration? Differential maybe? but it feels like the vibration id comming from the front. The steering wheel vibrates pretty good when it happens. Thanks

your pic of the rim paint job looked like radial tires? I run 32 but I have bias ply.Run what is stamped on the tires.Vibration may be A wheel not balanced or the lead balance wieght came off,or A shifted steel belt.Take the car and put it on A jack stand and spin the wheel and see if it runs true(bent rim,not seated against the drum etc.) Mark

My bias tires I have at 30 psi. My radials I have at 35 psi. As mark says have the tires balanced. Another possibility is the universal joints.
