headliner repair

Post by skyhawk61 »

I've been looking for a way to salvage my cardboard headliner in my Fury 2 door hardtop during the restoration process. I found some thin off-white pleated vinyl in a fabric store; the grooves are 1/8 rather than 1/4, but they lined up perfectly all across the section. There's no cloth backing, so there's no 'tuck and roll" effect. I sanded the old cardboard, then glued the new vinyl onto the surface. Probably will have to be tinted some to get the eggshell factory color. Still working on the perforated center section. Here's the before and after shots. Dennis
