HEADLIGHT GO OUT THEN BACK ON.

Post by Dick Koch »

When we got home from out trip to New Orleans it was around 10:30 at night, as I turned into our subdivision the headlight went out, I was at a stop sign getting ready to turn onto our street and after about four seconds the lights came back on?????? When I pulled into my yard it happened again. Thank god it didn't happen on I-95 with all the traffic. I forgot about it until last night, Yvonne and I went to a car show and had to return home with the lights on but again as I turned into my street the lights went out again but came back on quickly, did it a couple of time, thank god again I was not on a main street. I kinda think it may be the headlight switch, or something to do with brake light when I put the brakes on. Doesn't the headlight switch have a built in circuit breaker that open on overload and then closes when it cools off. If you guys have any explanation on how to fix it or what might be causing it, pleas let me know.
Thanks
Dick.

Dick,

I've had the same problem too - on my "Matthew To Do" list :D is this neat trick from Stefan:

Let us know if it works for you.

Sometimes the dimmer switch can do this also. Next time it happens, try clicking the dimmer switch to see what happens.
