LAKE PLACID, FL. CALADIUM FESTIVAL - July 25-27, 2014

Post by Dick Koch »

Ho hum, just another day at a Car Show. Lake Placid is about a two hour drive from my house. We go to this show every year, all my friends are getting so old they can't stand the heat anymore. But I gotta say, 93 degrees with nary a breeze was quite a struggle. No rain all day (what) until I got 3 blocks from my house, it poured!! Another opportunity to wipe my car down. Yvonne goes so she can load up on Caladium Bulbs and tour the Festival booths. Forgot my Camera, so no pictures except the two (ho hum) below I took when I got home.

Oh, 3rd place I can't remember what won. 2nd place went to my friend Russ with an absolutely beautiful 59 Chevy (UGH) Impala. In other words, what I call first place loser, heh, heh. And 1st place to a 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury. You can't imagine what it feels like to knock a Chevy off the top of the mountain.

Dick, you're going to need another addition to house your trophies! Hope it doesn't cut into your workspace...

Believe me, I am not bragging but a couple of years ago I had so many trophies I had no more room. I filled two large garbage cans, I tried to give them away but nobody wanted them. I ended up putting them out with the garbage. Although I did keep the ones of significance. I also kept the plaques type trophies and dash plaques.
