For those who don't subscribe to the Forward Look Mopar Discussion List, there's this post by Barry Beck:

Subject: Auction of 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible...
Date: Sun, 30 Mar 2014 04:38:26
Mr. Roger Van Hoy,
Our 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible will be sold at auction on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The restorer began a body-off restoration in 2006. The frame was powder coated and the body mounted on it. However, no work has been done to complete the restoration within the past three years. The partial restoration and all parts will be sold through auction by John McGrellis (McGrellis Auction) of Hockessin, Delaware. The engine, carburetor, transmission and rear have been rebuilt. Please add this notice to Forward Look at your convenience. Further information will be available at the McGrellis Auction website.
Thank you,
Barry Beck
I volunteered to post some pix for Barry - here's his reply:

Dan,
I have no photos of the '59 Sport Fury in its current condition. My wife will take photos as soon as the restorer permits her to do so. This is an unfortunate matter, and a costly one as well. We turned the car over to him in 2006 for the body-off restorations, hoping to have fabulous convertible upon its completion. When the photos are available, I'll forwarded them to your email address.
Thank you,
Barry Beck
A little tidbit: The 318 engine he had rebuilt came out of Faulkner when I had it replaced.

Dang! I wish I was as good as Dick, John and Big M at loading pix - this takes time! I've more images to load, but not now... (I guess it's time I installed that multi-pic loader, isn't it...)

I think Dick could whip this SF Convert together over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. :D 8)

Boxes Boxes and yet more Boxes! But with that many boxes it mud contain all the parts needed to put the thing all back together again.

Good luck to the winner of this auction in May!

Boy! it looks like it is all there... Put part A to part B etc. This would be the fun part with all the parts to put on it. Just need the final coats of red paint and some clear and you can start assembling the Car.

Boy what a sweet project-oh to be 10 years younger. Dick should be able to discover the fountain of youth. Its in Florida right?

Yes-saw Barry's car was in Delaware, but Dick should be able to locate the "Fountain of Youth" in Florida. If I could get a few swigs of that I could tackle this great project.

Oh, I see now.
The auction company has posted no info of this car on their site. In fact, they don't even list an auction for May 7. I sent McGillis an e-mail of inquiry.

The auction is finally posted: http://mcgrellisauction.com/may_17,_2014.htm

It's 5/17, not 5/7. No new pix, just the ones I've already posted here.
