Yesterday we had the annual Dutch Chrysler show and we went there with both cars. We had to leave early as it was a 2 hour drive and the organisation had asked us to be early so we could park in a good spot. After a smooth ride we arrived around 10AM and I was asked to park in front of the building. When I had parked the hardtop I walked back to find Matthew very upset, while he parked the convertible the power steering hose blew and sprayed fluid everywhere But at least he had just parked the car. There was a parking lot next to the building where only cars up to 61 could park and all others had to park across the road on a field. We had lots of really beautiful cars there, see for yourself:
This car took 1st placeThe first real Dutch car, a DAF 600
Ron, looks like a good show. Hopefully there was a PEP Boys or NAPA within a couple thousand miles of the convert. Knowing Matthew, He probably had 3 back up sets in the trunk just in case this happened
It was a good show but there was a lot of cleaning up to do after the convertible started spraying the fluid. And no PEP Boys or NAPA close and no spare in the trunk We did find a new hose and we bought it from the owner of the place where the show was held. He has a classic car repair and maintenance shop there and knew where to get one but not on a Sunday.
His supplier is afraid he will go to hell if he sells parts on Sunday.
Picked up the hose last week and I guess Matthew will put it on the car tomorrow.
@ John, I took the picture of the Jeepster for your dad.
I looked at the Jeepster and it was spot on for the 1950 model my Dad had, till he sold it this year. My fathers 1950 model was a 6 cylinder model, so it moved out pretty well.
I should buy it back for him as a surpise but he now has a 92 LeBaron Convertible as a play car so maybe not...
